Will my house recover after Christmas?

Does anyone else ever feel like this? Especially after Christmas, I just don't see how my house will ever be clean again.

A shorter cut...

So, Rachel, the miracle worker, cut my hair a little shorter and I think it is great! Happy Holidays!

My new shade...

I decided to do a little more pink than normal. I like it, but I think I will cut my hair even shorter than she cut it. I think a faux hawk is just what this pink hair needs...

The Candy Cane

I always knew the candy cane was a symbol that represented a shepherd's crook. Lily came home with this cute note and a candy cane she made at school... some new insight to candy canes:

I hope you enjoy this candy cane. As you take it in your hand, turn it upside down and you will see "J" that reminds us of Jesus who was born on Christmas Day. Turn it back upright and you wIll see the crook that reminds us that He is the Good Shepherd. The stripes are a reminder that He was beaten for us and the red color reminds us how He shed His blood for us on Calvary. The white tells us how He can wash our sins white as snow. As you taste this candy cane be reminded that fellowship with Jesus is ever so sweet.

Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

So, Scott has this friend in Idaho. They've been buddies since they were little. He is getting married in Mexico this weekend, and wants us to go. We didn't think we could hack it, with Christmas coming and all... but he travels a lot and has a lot of frequent flyer miles, so.... he is so sweet and got us tickets! It will be a quick trip (just 5 days) and we have to leave the kiddies because of the new passport law. Even little babies need passports! Here are some picks of the resort where we're staying and where the wedding is and all that jazz. I wish you could all come with me! Talk to you when I get back.

Giddy Up!

My friend Anne and I are 8 year old activity day leaders. We had a daddy daughter western round up on Saturday night. It was tons of fun!

IPod Tag

My friend Anne tagged me on this a while ago. What you do is put your IPod songs on shuffle and name the first ten songs that come up. No cheating, we all have something on our IPod to be ashamed of... here we go!

1. Bad Day (Daniel Powter) not bad, this used to be a ring on my phone... i'm just burned out.

2. Faster (Third Eye Blind) love the band, and love this song.

3. Atlas Shrugged (a book by Ayn Rand) Scott's pick really, the book is so long I haven't listened to it all the way through. It is about capitalism.. something I don't quite understand but my husband is a huge fan of.

4. Good Enough (Sarah McLachlan) are you kidding? She is one of my favorites!

5. E-Pro (Beck) Honestly don't know this song, but I like Beck.

6. I Got No (Operation Ivy) Hard core punk band, my hubby's also, who's IPod is this anyway?

7. Atlas Shrugged (again) I told you this was a long book, it's taking over my IPod!

8. This Will All Make Perfect Sense Someday (John Mayer) Not a huge fan of his, but he is amazing on the guitar.

9. Cover Girl (New Kids On The Block) I am dead serious that I do not know where this came from! I didn't even like them back in sixth grade when they were popular. Must be Scott yet again, maybe he's a 'closet fan'.

Better late than never... Here's some of our Halloween fun!

The Clawson's were by far the funniest as the Simpsons. The Lindquists are the Flintstones. Boshards showed up as Magnum PI and his woman for the evening.

We also had Cyndi Lauper (me) and Big bad wolf and little red riding hood (johnson's) There was Cleo Patra and her man, and Sonny and Cher! The picture below is me on our way to Witches Night Out up at Gardner Village, tons of fun!

Here are the rules:

So... six habits or facts about me:
1. I am a vegetarian, an ovo-lacto vegetarian to be technical and that means I don't eat meat, but I do eat dairy and eggs.

2. I will list one of my pepieves(?) when I tell someone that I am a vegetarian and they say "what in the world do you eat?" or my favorite... "so, do you eat fish?".

3. I'm obsessed with organization, but am still one of the most UNorganized people that I know.

4. I love love love all kinds of flowers, except not really carnations. My house is covered with paintings of flowers.

5. I have a tattoo. 3 stars in the shape of a triangle, red, white and blue on my hip.

6. I still eat sugar cereal probably more than my kids, like fruity pebbles, cocoa pops and honeycomb.

Here are my totally cute kids... they are off to take pictures at school. They attend Ivy Hall Academy. These are their 'dress' uniforms... they don't have to dress up like this everyday, thank heavens!

Stephanie Meyer is a genius. She graduated from BYU and these are her first books. Apparently the idea came to her in a dream. People are obsessed with these books worldwide! Join me in my obsession... but your husband won't thank you for it.

i am feeling sort of bad after reading everyone's great blogs. I don't have a lot to say. I am proud of this new slide show of Ivy Star, I am getting a little bit blogger savvy. I just can't really think of what to write. How do all of you decide what you will post? I need comments...
P.S. I'm a little disappointed that I only have one comment about the Twilight series... I know that some of you have read it and I would like feed back, if you haven't jumped on the bandwagon I suggest you get rollin.

We went on a bike ride and little Ivy Star fell asleep on Byerly. Best big brother ever!
